Mitchell & Lindsey was founded in 2010 by Bobby Lindsey and Mark Mitchell during a spontaneous lunch conversation in Frankfort, Kentucky. Bobby had previously owned an infrared inspection company Dynascan Technical Services, while Mark had served as an OSHA trainer, NFPA inspector, and IEC teacher. When customers kept calling Bobby wanting arc flash assessments he didn't know how to perform, he and Mark decided to join forces.
The early days were challenging, just them going to facilities themselves, learning to collect data, and figuring out the software. What set Mitchell & Lindsey apart was their unique positioning: a nationwide company that maintained a mom-and-pop feel. While competitors were either large corporations or local shops, Mitchell & Lindsey offered both scale and personal service, with clients calling Bobby or Mark directly when issues arose.
The company achieved remarkable success through steady, organic growth, with revenue increasing every year. Bobby and Mark attribute their success to consistent service delivery and deep customer relationships built over 20 years with major healthcare systems like Community Health Systems and LifePoint.
Mitchell & Lindsey joined Guidant Power in October 2025. The partnership was driven by Mark's retirement and Bobby's recognition that the company needed a succession plan to continue serving customers at the highest level. Joining Guidant enabled Mark to retire while Bobby continues to lead the business, with access to greater resources, expanded service capabilities, and the support of a larger organization that shares Mitchell & Lindsey's commitment to personal service and electrical safety excellence.
