What is Infrared (IR) Thermographic Inspection?

This inspection uses a thermal camera to identify heat patterns that may indicate inefficiencies or worse, risks. Often referred to as a non-contact, non-invasive inspection method, it can detect electrical issues such as loose connections, faulty fuses, defective breakers, damaged switches, overloaded or imbalanced circuits, and more hazardous electrical conditions.

Thermography is a core component of a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program. It helps protect electrical systems by surfacing issues early, before they become damage, incidents, or unplanned shutdowns, reducing risk, minimizing downtime, and protecting employees. IR thermography also provides a fast, non-destructive way to screen for thermal patterns associated with moisture intrusion and heat loss, so you can investigate and correct problems before they spread

1

Comply with NFPA® 70B Standards

Routine infrared inspections are essential for meeting NFPA® 70B standards, which mandate annual electrical system assessments. Regular thermography scans not only keep you compliant and prevent fines; they increase business resiliency, reduce insurance claims and may lower insurance premiums as a reward for proactively reducing electrical risks.

2

Prevent Injuries and Fires

Overheated electrical components increase the chances of electrical fires and worker injuries. Our infrared inspections identify these hot spots early, so you can take corrective action before a failure leads to costly downtime or, worse, a safety incident.

3

Reduce Costs to Maintain Your Electrical System

Avoiding unexpected breakdowns means fewer emergency repairs and lower operational costs. Regular infrared inspections help you identify minor issues early, preventing them from turning into expensive and disruptive failures that could impact your bottom line.
